Our Simply Nooch popcorn is back - new and improved! We loved it so much the first time that we decided to develop an alternative version for you to enjoy... with Sari Foods Organic Spirulina and all it's wonderful goodness!
We find that newbies to Spirulina struggle knowing how to incorporate it into their diet, especially for those who don't particularly like drinking smoothies.
At Sari Foods, we believe no one should miss out on a delicious, nutritious snack or suffer from food guilt for eating one so here´s a recipe for your next movie night that you can enjoy with the whole family - guilt free!
You will need:
- 1 cup organic popcorn kernels
- 8 tbsp Organic Olive Oil
- 2 tbsp Sari Foods Non-fortified Nutritional Yeast
- 1 tbsp Sari Foods Organic Spirulina
- Optional: sprinkling of cayenne pepper and sea salt to taste
Place a large pan on a medium heat with 1 tbsp of the oil and 1-2 popcorn kernels. Leave the lid on the pan and wait for the kernels to pop. Once they do, it's an indication that the pan is hot enough so add the rest of your kernels and return the lid to the pot.
They shouldn't take too long to start popping but to speed up the process you can slightly angle the pan lid ajar. The odd shake of the pan may also help prevent any popcorn burning at the bottom.
Once all the corn has popped, turn the heat off and add the remaining oil, Sari Foods Non-fortified Nutritional Yeast, Sari Foods Organic Spirulina and any other optional extras if required, to the pan.
Toss it all up and tip into a large bowl (or several small ones) and enjoy while still hot - you will love it!
