Dairy Free Mango & Turmeric Ice Cream

Mango turmeric ice cream in glass.

Grab a bowl and help yourself to a scoop (or two!) of this dairy-free mango turmeric ice cream. We’ve transformed the classic dairy favorite into a healthy vegan treat so you can feel great about every single spoonful. And to make things even better, this recipe is super easy to make and uses only five ingredients!

Our favorite thing about this yummy frozen dessert is that it contains turmeric. Chock full of antioxidant goodness, turmeric is best known for adding a burst of flavor and nutrition to curries and spicy dishes—but it also works surprisingly well in certain sweet recipes. This ice cream lets you enjoy turmeric in a frosty tropical dessert as a refreshing alternative to the warm, savory dishes you'd typically associate with this spice.

We think you’ll find that the earthy taste of turmeric perfectly balances the natural sweetness of the mango, and the creaminess of the coconut milk. And the bright sunny hue will put a smile on your face before you even take your first spoonful.

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Process all ingredients in a high speed blender until smooth and well combined.
  2. Pour into a glass container and secure lid. Place in the freezer for 2-3 hours. If you plan to leave the ice cream in the freezer overnight or longer, be sure to take it out to thaw for 30 minutes before serving. This will soften the ice cream enough to scoop out easily.
  3. Sprinkle on toppings of your choice (optional). We used desiccated coconut and walnuts for a satisfying crunch!

Enjoy!
