Because of its seaweed taste notes, Sari Foods Organic Spirulina goes particularly well with asian fusion food and adding it to rice dishes or salads is a great way to incorporate it in to savoury dishes!
This Kohlrabi, Lime and Spirulina salad is light and refreshing - perfect for this time of year and can be enjoyed on its own or as a side dish. We recommend whipping up a big batch for a BBQ this weekend and serving it with some toasted sesame tempeh.
Ingredients: serves 2-3
1 green chilli
a bunch of fresh mint
2 spring onions
1 tsp Sari Foods Organic Spirulina
1tsp Sesame oil
1 tbsp Sunflower oil
Trim the Kohlrabi and peel the outside skin off. Cut the kohlrabi into small (matchstick sized) batons and place in a serving bowl.
Finely chop the chilli, mint and spring onions and place in the bowl. Zest the lime onto the salad and squeeze the juice over. Add the Organic Spirulina and salt (to taste), add the oils, then mix.
Leave the salad to soak in the dressing for around 20 minutes before serving.
