Get going with this outrageously creamy, tasty breakfast bowl which includes your daily dose of maca and a portion of veg.
Vegetables for breakfast? That's right! Here's why you should be adding cauliflower to your smoothies.
Some smoothie ingredients seem like an obvious choice: berries, bananas, nut milks - even spinach and nut butters are making their way into our smoothies these days. But cauliflower, in a smoothie... really?!
Adding cauliflower to your smoothie provides the same creamy consistency you've come to experience from a banana smoothie, without adding the additional sugars, making cauliflower the go-to smoothie ingredient for low-carbers and dieters.
Furthermore, cauliflower contains an impressive array of nutrients, including vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, and because of its subtle flavor, you can add it to any smoothie recipe you like - this is one vegetable that deserves a regular spot in your smoothies.
The nutrient-packed combination of cauliflower, maca and spirulina make for one magical breakfast bowl that delivers on flavor and nutrition!
You will need:
- 1/2 cup cauliflower, frozen
- 2 bananas, frozen
- 1.5 cup almond milk, unsweetened
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp nut butter, we used almond
- 1 heaping tbsp Sari Foods Gelatinized Maca Powder
- Toppings of your choice (optional). We used granola, desiccated coconut and Sari Foods Organic Spirulina Powder for the vibrant green swirl effect (not to mention tons of extra nutrients).
Add all the ingredients to a high speed blender and blend for 1 minute or until smooth and well combined. Pour into your favorite smoothie bowl and add your toppings. If using spirulina, dust over half a teaspoon (or more if you'd like) and gently stir to create the swirl effect.
Peace, love and veggie breakfast bowls from the Sari Foods family.
