Black Forest Nice Cream With Acai Cherry Compote

Treat yourself to a scrumptious bowl of cherry chocolate goodness with no remorse—because this sweet treat is actually good for you. We promise! Gluten-free and vegan, and chock full of antioxidants and healthy fats, this black forest nice cream can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, or as the ultimate after dinner treat!

Our nice cream bowl is a perfect frosty dessert when temperatures rise, but it’s so yummy you may find yourself fixing some up on even the coldest winter nights. It’s become one of our year-round favorites and we think you’ll love it too. Enjoy!

Ingredients: 

For the nice cream:

  • 1-2 cups cherries, frozen
  • 2 bananas, frozen
  • 1 Tbsp cashew butter (or any nut butter)
  • 2 Tbsp cacao powder
  • ¼ cup full fat coconut milk
  • 1 Tbsp coconut sugar
  • 1 tsp Sari Foods Organic Maca Powder

For the acai cherry compote:

For the compote:

Lightly process all compote ingredients in a high speed blender until you achieve a chunky liquid-like consistency. Set aside.

For the nice cream: 

  1. Place nice cream ingredients in a high speed blender and process until smooth. (Select the 'frozen dessert' setting if you blender has one.) 
  2. Pour into a bowl and stir in a generous Tbsp of the acai cherry compote, add your toppings (we used some fresh cherries and grated raw chocolate), and serve.
