Green smoothies are loved for being a great way to pack in portions of healthy fruit and veg all in one hit. If you hadn't already guessed, one of the key requirements of the green smoothie is a good amount of green vegetables. Green veggies are bursting with chlorophyll which has incredible alkalinising, anti-inflammatory and detoxifying benefits, and so leaves you feeling perfectly energised and refreshed.
There are a lot of green smoothie recipes out there. They range from tasting kinda green all the way to tasting super green and we vary ours depending on our mood. However, if you're new to the concept, your first taste of green smoothie needs to be carefully considered and this staple green smoothie is the perfect starter. 1 tbsp Sari Foods Organic Spirulina Powder
2 peeled kiwi fruit
1/2 an avocado
1 cup fresh spinach
1 cup fresh shredded kale
1cm piece fresh root ginger, peeled and finely grated
1 heaping tbsp almond butter
1 cup almond milk
raw honey to sweeten
handful of ice
Add all the essential ingredients to your food processor including the ice (if required) for an extra fresh taste. Blend for 2-3 minutes until smooth and creamy. Taste and add honey to sweeten if you wish - Pour and enjoy!
